About CBD

CBD (Cannabidiol) is one of more than 100 cannabinoids found in the Cannabis plant.  Unlike THC which is commonly associated with marijuana, CBD is non-psychotropic and therefore will not cause feelings of intoxication or the feeling of being “high”.  While CBD can be found in the marijuana plant, most CBD products on the market today (including ours) are derived from the Hemp plant.  Hemp, by definition, is very low in THC containing only trace amounts (less than 0.3%).

CBD is continually being researched by health and holistic professionals for natural healing and supportive properties. CBD is non-habit forming and many consumers are thrilled with their own personal experiences. We are excited about the research underway to explore CBD for symptoms like pain and inflammation, stress and anxiety, sleep loss, achy muscles and joint mobility.*

Choosing the Right CBD

Below you will find an infographic that provides a brief overview of CBD. It is meant to help you better understand quality standards and assist you in making the right product decisions. In our “Shop” section you will find a wide range of KindUrth products that adhere to these standards and support a variety of needs.

How

CBD Works

Our bodies contain “cannabinoid receptors” which are part of our endocannabinoid system (ECS). The ECS is responsible for the regulation of internal functions such as pain sensation, inflammation levels, body temperature, and sleep. When CBD enters your body, it collaborates with our ECS system by binding to the cannabinoid receptors and thus helping the ECS system to promote homeostasis (a natural state of balance).*

Unlike many modern-day pharmaceuticals, CBD works at the “system” level, not the “symptom” level, engaging with your body’s endocannabinoid system to provide homeostasis with, for example, your body’s immune and central nervous systems. So, if your body is experiencing high levels of inflammation, CBD works to help lower the inflammation to normal levels – restoring homeostasis. If you are feeling anxiety, stress or having trouble falling asleep your central nervous system may be over excited in certain ways. CBD works to help lower that level of excitement and restore homeostasis.*

Learning more about CBD can help guide what products best suit you and your custom approach to wellness and self-care. With thousands of medical studies and publications to date and thousands more under way, the health benefits of CBD are of high interest to the medical community.

As with any product, personal prudence and consultation with a health professional is recommended to understand how CBD can work for you and how best to maximize the health benefits of this all-natural product.*
